“The juice is worth the squeeze”

4/10/2017

Picture
This picture represents how my life can be, and how I will doubt myself at points but then I do what I always wanted to. The picture shows that even though there are points where I doubt myself I can still be successful, and I should try to be successful. All though I will want to quit I still shouldn’t. The picture also says that there are a lot of steps to success, but one step it doesn’t show is failure. There will always be a lot of failure on the road to success. “I can't do it” shows doubt” “I want to do it” shows that want. “How do i do it?” shows questioning. “I’ll try to do it” shows that you want to try to be successful. “I can do it” shows there’s no more doubt about yourself and “I will do it” shows that you will succeed no matter what happens in life. Sometimes we have to stop and question ourselves before making decisions. “The juice is worth the squeeze”. We have to ask ourselves “Is this decision worth tasting the juice”. Sometimes the answer is no, sometimes yes. But we have to make to right decision. Sometimes we’ll make mistakes and make the wrong one. But I want to make the right decisions, so I will try to be successful.

Should Apple have helped the FBI hack a phone?

3/3/2017

Should Apple help the FBI? Or should they just let the FBI hack the phone on their own? I think they should let the FBI do it on their own. Apple should not help the FBI hack phones for investigations.
The FBI was violating our rights and Apple’s too. “Basic American rights were at stake, and the purpose of law is to protect people’s rights. The U.S. government has no right to force anybody to provide it services against their will. It doesn't matter whether the software the FBI wanted Apple to create would create problems for phone owners. Forcing Apple to create such software would have violated the rights of the company.”(Randall G. Holcombe). The company clearly did not want to help the FBI, and the FBI had no right to try to force them to. Our rights are supposed to be protected by the government, not taken away. That’s what the FBI was doing while trying to force Apple against their will to help them with an investigation. They tried getting the information from Apple that they never really had. Creating a software like that could cause a lot of problems because it could provoke pedophiles and criminals to hack our phones. They could use the same technology

Whitt Flora thinks Cook was doing wrong by refusing to unlock Farook’s phone. “
Cook refused to unlock Farook's phone to help the FBI's investigation of the attack. This refusal is hard to justify in an age when America and its allies are coming under attack from extremist groups.” (Whitt Flora). Cook refused because it was violating his rights, and taking him to court to force him to create a software is violating them even more. He also wanted to save the brand name. The FBI was trying to get Cook to give them information that Apple didn’t have. Even though Tim Cook refused the FBI was still able to hack the phone without Apple’s assistance, so they never needed to contact him in the first place.
The FBI is taking away our rights, and potentially provoking others to hack our phones.  “
Apple phones have features that protect the privacy of the information on them, and the Fourth Amendment guarantees people this right to privacy. And Apple has the right to provide products that help Americans protect this right. Yes, the Fourth Amendment also says the government has a right to search personal property if it has a warrant and probable cause. But it does not say that third parties, like a technology company, can be forced to aid the government in its searches.”(Randall G. Holcombe). If Apple has the right to provide products to protect their right to have privacy then why did the FBI try forcing them against their will to violate that right? Apple creating that software could violate a lot of people’s rights. The government could hack any phone they wanted. It could also provoke others to hack our phones too. If the FBI was successful in forcing Apple to make that software other countries could too, once again violating American rights. Is this really what we want the government to do? Do we really want them to know information that could let them watch our every move? And what if terrorists get a hold of this information? They could find top secret American documents and put the US in danger.

Apple should not help the FBI hack phones for investigations. The FBI is violating our rights by trying to force Apple against their will to help them hack a phone. Other people could get the idea to hack our phones, and that could put the US in danger.

Why Andre Cailloux deserves a monument in Washington D.C

2/10/2017

There are many reasons why Andre Cailloux deserves a monument. According to Mercy Street 7 Historical Civil War Figures Who Don’t Have a Statue, But Deserve One Andre Cailloux was “Dubbed “the first black Civil War hero,”. Andre was also born into slavery but eventually bought his way out of it, he also became a Union captain after getting out of slavery. “Andre Cailloux was born into slavery, bought his way out of bondage and became a Union captain during the war.”  He deserves a monument because it takes bravery and selflessness to go into a war and Andre Cailloux shows he has exactly that. He also fought to end slavery and to put the south back in with the Union so the nation would be whole again.  “On May 27th, 1863, Cailloux was asked to lead his men into what’s been described as “an almost suicidal assault.” It also takes a lot of bravery to accept and go into an extremely dangerous situation. Andre Cailloux has shown time after time that he has the bravery to go into battle. He’s fighting for what’s right. “After nearly losing his arm in the battle, Cailloux continued to fight”. He deserves a monument for this reason because he continued to fight even after he was greatly injured. He wanted to fight for what is right and I believe that it takes bravery, determination, and selflessness to be considered a hero and Andre Cailloux has all of those traits. He was determined to win as he showed in the fight where he nearly lost his arm. Andre Cailloux shows bravery because he actually goes into war and he goes into an almost suicidal assault. He shows selflessness by actually going to war to fight for the country, he also shows determination to fight for his freedom as a black man. He should get a monument for being brave and fighting for the nation to become whole again. He also inspired other civil rights activist to step up. “Civil War hero whose courageous example continue to inspire civil rights activists in New Orleans down into the mid-twentieth century.(https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=13787526) Andre Cailloux should get a monument because he is a war hero that fought to make the nation whole.

Can Fame Make You Happy?

1/11/2017

Celebrities get a lot of attention, but can some of them actually handle the stress that comes with it or will they crack under the pressure? Most of them look like they're very happy, but what if there's more when they're not in public. What if what we think of as a glamorous life isn't so glamorous? Celebrities look happy, but that doesn't mean they are. Celebrities earn a lot of money too, but that won't lead to true happiness. Being famous cannot make you truly happy.
Some celebrities would rather not be watched everywhere they go when they are off camera, or are no longer performing on stage."Beyonce has said that though she likes attention when she's on stage, she'd be happier if she could "cut it off" when she isn't performing."(Scope Magazine Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy) Yes, Beyonce may look happy in all, but sometimes she just wants a break. Other celebrities feel that way too. They may look happy gliding up and down red carpets, and going to some of the best awards shows ever, but that can also be stressful. You’ll have loads of fans surrounding you, and the paparazzi as well. Celebrities don’t always want their picture taken, especially when they are out in public just doing everyday activities. Celebrities just wanna do normal things like us, but they hardly ever get the privacy they want.
Celebrities do make a lot of money, but money can’t buy true happiness. According to Scope "She (Jennifer Lawrence) earns more money from one movie than people make in a lifetime" Celebrities may earn a lot of money. That doesn't mean they're necessarily happy. They can get really stressed about the movie or song and that could affect their happiness. Celebrities are never truly happy, they don’t have true happiness when it comes to money. Some people think it can make you happy because you would have money, and would people would look up to you as their role model. Some people also think they will be happy because they can handle the stress that it brings. People aren't really aware of the stress that it brings.
Celebrities could be surrounded with friends, but who’s to say those friends are true friends? “It can be difficult for a celebrity to trust others and to make and keep true friends. Stars have to wonder if their "friends" like them for who they are or for what they have." (ScopeMagazine Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy) Celebrities may look like they’re surrounded by friends, but the people could be faking the friendship. People would do anything to get close to their favorite celebrity, even if it means faking a friendship. This could make being friends with regular people difficult for celebrities because they don’t know who’s really there for them and who's not. When people pretend to be your friend it can hurt, and make you feel like you can’t make any friends because of your social status. It could also get to the point where celebrities don't trust anyone.
I believe fame cannot make you happy. Celebrities do get a lot of attention, but can they handle the stress that comes with that attention?  Some celebrities don’t like being watched everywhere they go, and would rather cut off the attention when they are not performing on stage. They do make a lot of money, yet money isn’t the key to true happiness. They’re also surrounded by many friends that could possibly just like them for what they have and not for who they really are.

Winter Break

1/4/2017

The first few days of my break sucked. I got sick, and couldn't really cheer at the basketball games. My phone cracked and stopped working for a few days, and I went to a Christmas party that was no fun at all because I didn't know anyone there except for my cousins and grandparents.
There were a lot of good things that happened during my break too. I got to eat a lot of awesome food, and I got to spend time with my family that I haven't seen in forever. My grandma took me and my cousins to the Cheesecake Factory, and then we got to go to the mall. I got a new phone case so next time I drop my phone it won't crack as much as it already is, or even crack at all. My parents took me shopping for Christmas, and I got a lot of cool things. I got fluffy socks which I literally love, so that was pretty awesome for me. I bought a few books about ghosts and demons, supernatural and paranormal stuff. All my favorite tv shows were on during Christmas break too.
I got to spend time with my family and get to know new people that I never knew I was related to. My cousins and I went to the Cheesecake Factory and got a ton of good food, and dessert. We got to go to the store called Forever 21, and then we went to Starbucks. My aunt drove us back to Ashland from Columbus for the Christmas party where I got to meet some of my family I never met before, and also didn't like very well.

Forensic Scientific Technician

12/2/2016

I will become a forensic science technician by going to college and working hard in school and learning the skills I need. According the Ohiomeansjobs.com those skills are stress control, reasoning, and critical thinking. My education will have to consist of a Bachelor’s degree. I can get these skills by going to college and learning them. I’m actually good on stress control right now. I know how to reason a little bit, and I need to learn critical thinking. I will have to improve my study habits in order to have to actually learn the skills and have the job. I also will have to improve them so I can get my Bachelor’s degree. I plan on working hard and achieving my goals.
To be a forensic science technician I need to possess the skills of stress control and reasoning. “So I can get a bloodstained football shirt ... when someone got hit over the head with a bottle during a violent incident following a football match ... And you want to know, is it just the blood of the victim or is there blood of the assailant as well? Do the witness statements tie up that it was a 50-50 type of fight, or was it just an unprovoked attack?” (Catherine Thacker has said herself in Leo Benedictus, The Guardian, adapted by Newsela staff)That proves that you have to have reasonable and realistic scenarios in your head on how the crime happened. It also shows that you have to be able to think of things that actually could have happened to the victim in a crime scene. There is not so much stress control showed in there.
Forensic science can take me many places. According to Ohio Means Jobs website “there are 340 forensic scientists and 20 yearly openings”. I will live in Columbus, Ohio where I will make around $60,480 a year. There are no opportunities to rank up but there are different types of forensic science technicians. I plan to do this until it is time to retire.
I want to be a forensic science technician. I have learned that with a lot of hard work and effort I can become what I want, but I really actually have to work for it. I can’t just expect it to happen. I want to actually make something of myself in the future. I don’t want to be like how some people in my family are.

Career Day

11/1/2016

Picture
Before career day I wanted to be a forensic investigator because crime and law just really interests me. I like solving puzzles and mysteries. I read a lot of books with solving a crime or what goes through the criminal's mind as they are committing the crime. I also watch a lot of tv shows where they solve the crime or tell the stories of the crime, and that's what helped peak my interest in forensic investigation. Before the reality store I thought money was something you earned and then spent it on bills and taxes, and that you have to save money up every once in awhile, or when you want to buy a house or a car.

When we first started the reality store I thought that it would be easy, but a little bit after it started getting harder because you had to pay for all these things like a car, house, child care, insurance, and communications. It didn't help the fact that we all had a spouse that doesn't work. I learned how much stress this can put on my parents, and other family members with having to save money for the things that you need. I also learned that being an adult is harder than what teenagers think. I have more appreciation for my mom and dad, and any other family members. They have to go through stress just so they can keep a roof over their head, food in their mouths, and clothes on their back.
Picture
I learned a few things during the afternoon from the speakers. I learned that with forensic science come chemistry, biology, math, and other sciences. I also learned that you really have find what you want to do before you just go out and do something. You really have to think before you pursue a career. You have to think "Will I be happy with doing this the rest of my life?" or "Is this something I'm really interested in?". I learned you should find what your passionate about before doing any type of career. I took all what I learned as that you should follow what you want to do, but you should think if you'll be happy or not.

Vote for Hillary

10/27/2016

Hillary Clinton is the most experienced candidate. She knows a lot about politics. She was the first lady of the USA, she was Senator from New York, and the Secretary of State. She also has a past with being a lawyer.
Hillary Clinton plans to keep guns away from criminals. According to huffingtonpost.com Hillary has said “We can have common sense gun reforms that keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and the violently unstable while respecting responsible gun owners... The stakes are too high, the costs are too dear, and I am not and will not be afraid to keep fighting for common sense reforms, and along with you, achieve those on behalf of all who have been lost because of this senseless gun violence in this country. "The majority of our country supports background checks, and even the majority of gun owners do." Hillary has also said “I think that we have to look at the fact that we lose 90 people a day from gun violence.” Hillary Clinton shows that she cares about our society and wants to keep the guns out of the hands of many criminals. This makes her a good candidate because she wants America to be safer.  She also wants to keep guns out of the hands of the people who are “violently unstable”. She says that she is not taking the guns away from the gun owners who are responsible. Background checks will also make America safer. America can keep tabs on who has a criminal past, and who doesn’t.
Hillary Clinton is not taking away the right to bear arms, but is improving it. Again Hillary Clinton has stated “We can have common sense gun reforms that keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and the violently unstable while respecting responsible gun owners” Donald Trump has said “I am a 2nd amendment person. If we had guns in California on the other side where the bullets went in the different direction, you wouldn't have 14 or 15 people dead right now.” Hillary has also said that “Arming more people is not appropriate response to terrorism.”(washingtonpost.com) Yes Hillary Clinton wants to do something with gun control, but from what she has said it clearly shows she is not taking them away from the responsible gun owners. She is taking them away from the criminals and mentally unstable people. People who are against Hillary Clinton say that she is trying to take the guns away from the people that hunt. Again she is only taking the guns away from the criminals. She is also taking guns away to prevent some terrorism in America. This will help our country because we could be safer. We wouldn’t have to worry about criminals getting their hands on a gun. This would also make background checks more frequent which also increases the safety of the people of America. Terrorism would become more rare because they couldn't get a gun without having a background check.
Hillary Clinton wants to give all children the chance to get a quality education at an affordable price. “ I believe in affordable college, but I don't believe in free college, because every expert that I have talked to says how will you control the costs. I want to make sure middle class kids, not Donald Trump's kids can afford college. (: MSNBC Democratic primary debate in New Hampshire) “ I believe that we should make community college free. We should have debt-free college if you go to a public college or university. You should not have to borrow a dime to pay tuition. I want to use Pell grants to help defray the living expenses that often make a difference, whether a young person can stay in school or not. I disagree with free college for everybody.” ( 2015 CBS Democratic primary debate in Iowa) “We ought to be making sure every qualified student can go to college and pursue his or her dreams. And you know, there’s a very easy way to do that. All we have to do is cut all the tax breaks for oil companies, pharmaceutical companies and billionaires and put it into student aid.” ( Annual 2006 Take Back America Conference). Hillary Clinton wants to make all education affordable for the lower class. She does want free community college, but she does not want to make college free as a whole. She believes that all children have potential or as she says “I want every child in America to live up to his or her God given potential”.  She wants children to be able to pursue their dreams without going into debt. This will be the best for our country because it could raise the economy with all the children being educated. They could take over the jobs that some people can't do anymore, and the newer ones that don't exist yet. Their parents no longer would have to pay for such an expensive education. They could send their kids to college without paying such a large bill.
In conclusion America should vote for Hillary Clinton to be the next president. Hillary Clinton is the best candidate to be president. She cares about getting the guns out of the hands of the wrong people, and keeping them in the hands of the responsible gun owners. She also really cares about the education of the children in the United States. She wants every child to have a chance at getting a quality education. She wants people to be able to pursue their dreams without happening to go into debt while doing so. She believed that all the children have potential to do the things they dream of doing.

ScreenFlow has many cool features you can use. ScreenFlow is a program where you can record what you're doing on your computer. You can also edit the videos you recorded with ScreenFlow on ScreenFlow.
In my tutorial I show the user of ScreenFlow how to use the features in ScreenFlow. I show the user how to split clips, add transitions, add callouts, video actions and many more. I used ScreenFlow to create the tutorial. Some important parts in my tutorial is how to split and delete clips.
ScreenFlow might be useful in your life because you could have a project in school that you have to show the class how to do something in a video, so you could use ScreenFlow to record it and edit it.

Once I graduate college I will try to find a medium sized building to start out in, but when I get everything that I need I will move to a bigger building.
